New Staff Assignments

In recognition for the many ways she already assists patients and their families, Natalie Gordon has been appointed to the position of Patient Care Coordinator at Grace Family Medicine. In her new role she will be expanding her skills in patient assistance and referral in addition to continuing many of the daily administrative tasks that have been part of her front office job over the years. Please join us in celebrating Natalie's commitment to compassionate excellence in patient care service.

After much prayerful consideration, the Board of His Branches has appointed Elaine Vigar as its new Center Administrator. Elaine has been managing the finances of His Branches and Grace Family Medicine faithfully and is currently working toward a Masters Degree in Health Care Administration at Roberts Wesleyan College. Her new job responsibilities will include overseeing, together with our Board Treasurer, the entire His Branches budget as we move toward becoming a fully-licensed Community Health Center.

Rochester Youth Outreach

In RYO's Spring newsletter, Jessica and Greg report:

What a whirlwind this year has been! It seems as though we just began our friendships with the young people we see each Thursday. With the conclusion of both the Elim Bible Institute and Roberts Wesleyan College academic calendars, our outreach also concluded for the summer.

The end of the year was definitely full of challenges! Taking finals, preparing for a trip to the Philippines, attending medical school interviews, working part time, and moving to a new house kept Greg on his toes! Jess fought valiant battles with end-of-the-year presentations and finals, RA responsibilities, and teaching English to refugees from Burma. We are so thankful that we have such a dedicated group of volunteers at RYO! Surely the last several weeks of the program would not have been possible without such dedicated and diligent workers!

With our trusty volunteers returning to their hometowns for the season, RYO will be taking on a new form in the summer months. We hope this time will be useful for coming up with more recruitment strategies for Rochester-area colleges, formulating new ideas for the program, and building up support within the neighborhood.

Robach Secures NY Funds

His Branches has just received word from Senator Joseph Robach's office (56th District - Greece, NY) that we will be the recipients of an $18,000 grant from New York State to cover some of the start-up expenses involved in converting Grace Family Medicine into a licensed Community Health Center. We deeply appreciate the support we have been receiving from all sectors of the community through individual donations, corporate gifts, and now State funds earmarked for health care. Please let Senator Robach know that you appreciate his involvement in and support of worthwhile local endeavors like ours.
